Pixel Watch 2 did not reset step count overnight. Today's steps being added to yesterday's total

Pretty much as the title says.  When I woke up this morning my step count was the same as it was yesterday.  It did not reset to 0.  Now today's steps are being added to yesterday's total making today's information inaccurate.  Fitbit support was completely unhelpful, completely ignoring what I was saying and kept telling me I just need to sort my data properly.  Then they disconnected me.  Has anyone had an issue like this?

I got the same issue. I got my pixel watch 2 last week. It did not reset to 0 from day to day. Keep going up.

Hi, @muels7 & @cs268 , try restarting your PW2. Sync the Fitbit app on your phone. From the clock screen swipe down>settings>swipe up to system>restart. Let us know how you get on.

Cheers

I still got the same issue after restarting my PW2 and sync the Fitbit app on my Pixel 8 Pro phone. The steps are still accumulated (today + previous day)

I tried restarting.  Step count is still wrong.  The odd thing is if you look at the hour by hour step count and add it up, it does not equal the daily count.  That is because today's today is added to yesterdays total... I wonder if this will continue tomorrow and keep adding up.

Fitbit support is useless.  They just keep sending me canned answers.  No one that can actually think for themselves.

Hi, @muels7 & @cs268 Resetting the SW2 probably won't correct the accumulated error. Can you let us know if the error continues after you reset your SW2, you may need to wait for 48 hours to see if it's fixed? Please sync your Fitbit app before checking, (on the "Today" screen in the Fitbit app slide your finger down the screen & release to see the green bar extending from the left top). Please also advise which SW version of the Fitbit app you are running and if you are logging in with your Google account. The SW version can be found under "Help & Support" in the app settings.

FYG I have a new SW2 and Pixel 8 Pro running SW v 4.2.1 and log in with my Google account but do not see the problem you reported.

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers

The steps reset to 0 and recounted this morning. It works now. Probably I restarted my SW2 yesterday and had to wait for the correction after the second day.

Thanks

Mine reset last night too.  I am running version 4.2.1.   I checked my update history and my phone updated to that version on 10/18, so the day before I started having this issue.  Is there any way to clear the step count for a specific day and input a manual one?  I have the hour by hour step count so if I add those up I can get my actual step count.
