My Charge 2 Fitbit refuses to connect

When I woke up this morning, my fitbit was working fine. Around noon I took it off for a bit so i could do some chores and by the time I out it back on around 3 pm, it wasn't working. It kept displaying a screen reading "www.fitbit.com/setup". I've had this charge 2 for about 5ish years. it doesnt need to be set up. Then i went through all the steps required to try and fix it - from deleting the app off my phone to restarting the charge device itself to shutting off my Bluetooth. Every time I shut off my Bluetooth and try to reconnect it tells me it cant because I don't have an app for the device [I do] and then I have to manually connect the devices Bluetooth.

My app and device will not sync. My device refuses to show me anything other than the set up link. My app is reading that nothing is wrong, its just having issues syncing. My firmware is up to date.

What do I do?

Hello @Ella3

This is quite odd since you were just doing chores and not altering settings in your Charge 2 Fitbit. But I’m hoping I can help.

Let’s try setting up your Charge 2 as a new device. Setting up your Charge 2 as a new device will not cause you to lose any of your data. Your data is held on the Fitbit servers. But, you will however lose any data you may have gotten “after” your last successful sync.

Here is how you set up your Charge 2 as a new device. Please follow each step carefully:

  1. Remove the Charge 2 from the Bluetooth settings. If your Versa is not showing on your Bluetooth at all proceed to step 2
  2. Turn off other nearby Bluetooth connections.
  3. Check if the Fitbit App is updated
  4. Log out of the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  5. Restart your Charge 2: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm
  6. Log back into your Fitbit app, tap your profile picture then scroll down and tap Set Up a Device.
  7. Select the Charge 2 and follow the onscreen instructions. When asked if you want to replace the Charge 2 say yes.

😃 I hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes.
