MyFitnessPal saying update required

Hi,

When I try to connect the MyFitnessPal app to the Fitbit app, it gives me two options: 'buy' or 'update'. The 'connect' option is not available.

The Fitbit app is updated and functioning. Is there another way to connect? I find the food input much easier on MyFitnessPal - the Fitbit app doesn't seem to be particularly suited to Australian brands.

Hi, @FM12345, welcome, absent further information I suggest you log on to Fitbit & MFP online and then go to the app store (you do not mention the make or model of your cellphone) to check for an update to MFP. Once you are logged in go to apps, and scroll down & you should find Fitbit offered as an option. Click the "Get" button to link. How do I connect Fitbit with another app? It offers further information.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi,

My phone is an Oppo Find X3 lite.

Both of my apps and Google are permanently logged in. I checked both for updates.

So I open MFP, add 'connect a device', and it gives me a list of apps. I select Fitbit, and my only options are 'update' or 'buy'.

if I go to 'update', it redirects me to the app store, where it tells me it's already updated.

I can't send screenshots for some reason.

Thanks for any assistance

Hi, @FM12345, thanks for your feedback. I'm unfamiliar with Oppo Find X3 lite, I suggest you sync your Fitbit app, clear the cache & delete the app. Restart your phone & reload the Fitbit app and try again.

I hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Cheers

I am having this exact problem on a Samsung Galaxy. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both apps and restarted my phone. Both apps are up to date and my fitbit is up to date. However, it continually only offers "update" or "buy". It never offers connect.

Hi, @Disfigurines & @HappyMama23, have you followed through on my link & advice? If you are still stuck please post here again with more information including your cellphone's make, OS & model if not already provided. I'm not experiencing this problem with a PW2 & Pixel 8 pro, you might want to explore the help forum at MFP

I hope this helps.

Yes. I followed your link and followed all suggestions I could find. I also followed your advice to sync, uninstall, restart, and reinstall. So far nothing has helped.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Model # SM-S901U.

I will also seek help at MFP.

@FM12345 and @Disfigurines

I finally got mine solved! I went to phone settings and found a software update for the phone that needed installed. Once that was complete and the phone restarted, the connect option was available .
