New Blaze, no notifications

First, sorry for the long post... I just got my new Blaze setup, it is syncing with the Fitbit app, but does not show up in my list of paired devices on my LG G3 (Android v 6.0).  I can pair the "Blaze (Classic)", which I understand is for music controls (only?). I am also not getting any notifications (phone or messaging). So, a few questions ...

At one point, I did see just "Blaze" in my paired devices screen for Bluetooth, but not now.  Does it need to be listed for notifications? And would the option on the Blaze for "Bluetooth Classic" need to be set to "Off" to get notifications?  If so, can I not control music and get notifications at the same time?

Thank you,

Pete

@Paruby I've never used notification on my Blaze so I'm no expert. However, I did find this help file on the subject which I hope helps you sort the problem out:

Thanks Steve.

I went through the doc just after posting the original question, and after, I was able to receive a Test Notification from the Fitbit app, which I could not before that.  I even changes my default messages from Message+ to Messaging (saw issues with Message+).  One of the big draws to the Blaze was the notifications...

So I am now beyond frustrated...  I decided to try getting notifications on an iPhone 5S.  I downloaded the Fitbit App, paired it to my Blaze, and I received the first message i sent to the iPhone...  So.. .what am I missing?  I have a few clarification questions/thoughts as well...

First, I am getting inconsistent results when trying to sync my Blaze with the app on Android 6.0 (LG G3).  Also, not sure if it is related, but on the Blaze, under Settings, I do not always see the option for Bluetooth Classic (Off, Pair, On).  It is sometimes there, and sometimes not.  Can someone explain if this option has to be On  all the time, or just when I want to use the music controls?  Also, when I reviewed the Bluetooth settings on the iPhone, it said the "Blaze" was connected, not just paired.  On my LG G3, both "Blaze" and "Blaze (Classic)" are just listed as paired, not connected.  Earlier, when I had the option in Settings on the Blaze for Bluetooth Classic, and it was On, I saw the "Blaze (Classic)" option on my LG G3 listed as "Connected", but "Blaze" was not.  Should "Blaze" be listed as "Connected"? (Screenshot attached).  And why do I loose the setting on the Blaze for Bluetooth Classic?  FYI, I have restarted the Blaze itself, force shutdown the Fitbit app, and restarted my LG G3 multiple times...

Thanks,

Pete
