By the time this Question gets posted there will be nearly 1,000 complaints about the new Estimate of Oxygen Variation graph. Hopefully this posting will not be moved to the "broken" thread because I am not reporting a BREAK/BUG but instead, asking what was the intention of the NEW graph. A while back I posted a graph where I showed a superimposition of an OLD and a NEW EOV graph...
The NEW graph is the one with tightly-spaced vertical lines and many of them pass the ORANGE threshold. The OLD graph is the line graph underneath and most/all of it is in the GREEN zone. But you will notice the OLD graph and NEW graph have a synchronous variation. My suspicion is that FITBIT is changing (or testing) a new way to show very very sensitive changes in O2 levels and showing the variations at much shorter time intervals. Why would they do this? Again this is just my guess and I am not a sleep apnea expert but perhaps the old graphs didn't really give enough information as to what was the cause of the rising variation. Did the sleeper have ONE breath that paused for say 20 seconds or did she have 5 breaths that paused for 12 secs. By showing more time points and showing the amplitude of individual pauses, perhaps this representation would be more useful to a sleep apnea EXPERT to understand the wearers breathing patterns. I still think the data, with no explanation just causes loads of ANXIETIES for us Fitbit wearers that have no idea what the EOV graph really shows and when it indicates a problem rather than just typical benign breathing idiosyncrasies? I am hoping that a moderator can ask a Technical Person as to WHY DID FITBIT CHANGE the EOV graph? This is not simply changing the color or the background. They totally changed the way they depict the raw data coming out of the watch.
Moderator edit: Subject for clarity.

Hello everyone!
I have to thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback regarding the EOV graph.
Please note that the Fitbit community is not directly related to the technical and development departments. The information we have available is what we can see on the app or the help site. Further details will not be disclosed. I have realized that the graphs in general are being changed/renovated. It seems it is still in process. Fitbit appreciates your feedback. However, once the changes are finalized I am sure there will be documentation to explain the information displayed on the graphs. I appreciate your patience.

I just got my charge 5 and my first sleep chart looked a lot like this. Comparing it to what I've seen online, it's no wonder I'm now worried my breathing is totally screwed up! 😆

Yes all the online documentation shows the old style graph and the new style graph is a lot more erratic. We definitely need more of an explanation for what to make of these new style EOV graphs. In their present form (with no updated description) I think they do more harm than good.

This graph is just awful as it shows no relevant information at all. The old graph was a little better in terms of the data it showed but the details are so small and smashed together it makes it difficult to read. They really need to sort the graph out and make expandable like all the other sleep graphs.
