New dashboard not displaying current stats

I was tricked into moving over to the new app dashboard on my Galaxy phone and have been unhappy since.  If I pull down on the top of the screen I can force a sync, which does display the current day's stats briefly, but then immediately reverts to yesterday....but still says TODAY at the top of the screen.  If I am lucky, it will start displaying the real "TODAY"'s stats in the evening, but not during the day when I am trying to keep an eye on progress.

I was so frustrated that I uninstalled the app and then re-installed it.  This did not help.

The overall experience of the new dashboard is far inferior to the previous one.  (For example, it is less colorful and doesn't give you any of those meaningless but fun reinforcements like confetti and screen flashes when you hit targets...perhaps because it can't let go of yesterday.)

Hi @LittleBirdie, welcome to the Community. It's nice to see a new face around.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about the new dashboard, and I'm sorry for the issues that you've had with it. You've done a great job with the troubleshooting steps! Just to confirm, have you tried to use another phone to see if the same happens? Please provide me with your phone's model and Android version. Also, please verify that the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version.

In the meantime, I'd recommend the following steps:

  1. On your phone's settings, tap on Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  2. Go back to the previous screen, tap on Force Stop and reboot your phone.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and sync your Fitbit device.

If the dashboard keeps showing yesterday's stats, please take a screenshot and attach it in your reply. About the new dashboard, our team keeps receiving feedback from our users to continue working on it and improve it based on the Community posts.

Keep me posted.

Yes, this did help....for a time.  But what a bother!

I thought, perhaps, the fact that I was using an older phone (an s5) was part of the issue. So Fitbit problems was one (minor) reason that I recently upgraded to a Galaxy s10.  It was fully updated and the Fitbit displayed okay for about two days.  Then the problem re-emerged.  Although I can sync the app and it will display current info for a minute, it quickly reverts back to the previous day.  And even when the top area is showing current stats, the sections below--like calories consumed--still hold on to the previous day.  Yes, 23,000 steps looks impressive....but it's not useful when the reality is that you just had your breakfast and you should be at 845 steps.  I guess I'll force stop and reboot the new phone, but this is NOT something we should have to do.  Please, please solve this issue.

Hi @LittleBirdie, welcome back to the Forums. I'm sorry for my delayed response.

Thanks for trying the steps posted above, and I'm sorry that the issue keeps persisting. I see you point of view as this shouldn't be happening. Recently our team released an update for the Fitbit app, and I'm wondering if you've download it on your phone. If you've done so and the issue continues happening, please provide me with the following:

  • Your phone's model.
  • Android version.
  • Screenshot of the what is displayed in the Fitbit app. To attach it in your reply, check this post.

I look forward to your reply.
