New phone won't sync?

Got a new phone, downloaded the app like on my old phone. Both were android.  It acts as if it's syncing, and then nothing.  What can I do?

Do you still have your old phone? If so, check that it doesn't still have a Bluetooth connection to the fitbit that may be blocking your new phone from connecting.

 

Also, have you checked that your new phone is supported by fitbit at www.fitbit.com/devices ?

The old phone has no service, bluetooth, or the fitbit app any longer.

Oh my gosh - are some phones just not compatible?? I never foresaw that as a possibility! Moto G4 Plus is just not coming up...

Do you know if there's a way to sync on a laptop?

The Moto G4 seems a strange case. I've seen reports that the standard G4 and the G4 Plus have issues but my G4 Play seems to be fine (at least for the features I use).

 

It is possible to use a laptop instead but the setup depends on both the fitbit you have and the laptop's OS. Have a look at this help file which should cover most of the options:
