Why cant I download the fitbit app on my phone?

Apart that your phone is in the non compatible list it is very likely using Android OS with version less than 8 (I think 6 but i can be wrong)

@Wollej Welcome to the forums. Thanks for your inquiry regarding the Fitbit app and your smartphone the Huawei P8 Lite. According to the internet your smartphone has the following version: Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop). Minimum requirement is now Android 8 as Guitarplayer explained. Additionally the Fitbit app encountered issue while working with this specific smartphone. Despite meeting the requirements, the listed devices often exhibit compatibility issues that cause our products and services to not operate properly.
