I tried to start a challenge with my friend who has à fitbit but it says no contacts found

Go to friend finder on your app and choose email. Enter the email address of your friend (It has to be the email id your friend uses for fitbit, not any other). That will send them an invite and once they accept it you will get to see each other in your friend settings.
