Charge 3 will sync with my Samsung Phone however:
(1) Notifications is on but I am not getting texts or call notifications.
(2) Firmware update is available, however, it won't update.
Moderator edit: Subject for clarity.

Thanks for stopping by @BethG, how you doing?
What is exactly the model and OS of your Samsung? If you’re not sure whether your phone is compatible with this feature, go to this article: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?
In the meantime, about the notifications please try the steps below:
- Turn OFF the Notifications in your Fitbit mobile app and on your Charge 3, reboot your phone and Charge 3: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
- Turn the notifications back ON on both devices.
- Make sure All-day sync, Always Connected and Keep Alive Widget are enabled in the Fitbit mobile app. Make sure to sync after enabling them.
- Make sure the notifications are ON on your Charge 3. Press and hold the left button to access quick menu. Turn the notifications to ON.
- In the Fitbit mobile app, make sure you enabled the notifications and that Fitbit notification service is enabled in your phone settings. It needs to be ON.
About the firmware update, do you have an error message? Did you try to the update from another device?
Keep me posted with the outcome. Have a great weekend!

I have same problem.
My Android O.S. is 8.0 Samsung Galaxy A5. Just started to use today. Phone syncs but no texts and no apps recognizable to download. Like Gmail, Hotmail or Facebook.
This is unacceptable.

Nice to see that you're digging into the Fitbit Forums @SunsetRunner, let me give you a warm Welcome to our Community.
Thanks for let me know those details about your phone. I’d like to mention that this device is currently not on our list of supported devices. This means that we have not tested it for compatibility yet.
Since you are able to sync it is worth to check the following conditions:
- Check all the phone and Fitbit app requirements in How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
- The latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone or tablet.
- The Fitbit app is allowed to run in the background on your phone. For more information, see Why is the Fitbit app sending a notification to my Android phone?
- Your software on your phone is up to date. To check, tap Settings > About Phone or About Device > Android Version.
If these conditions are in order and the reception of notifications still no possible. I recommend you follow the troubleshooting steps in this article.
Our team is always working to test and add more Android devices to the supported devices list, so keep an eye open for updates!
Give it a shot and let me know if that works!
