Not counting my stairs

So the past two or three days I've been very aware of my stairs because my Fitbit isn't always counting them.

I just upgraded my Fitbit about 2 weeks ago from the charge HR to the charge 2. The charge 2 is awesome, don't get me wrong but I work in an old Victorian building and I usually do anywhere from 16-26 flights of stairs a day.. since I got my new Fitbit I've gotten 0-6 flights a day.. so today I counted and I should be at 12.. my Fitbit as well as my app both say 0.. I've tried different movements when walking, over exaggerating, not moving my arm much.  Nothing seems to work. I'm wondering if there a setting I don't know about?

I'm frustrated because I work a job that I don't have the chance to do much moving around but I make a point of going up stairs every hour. My calories burned are a lot lower and nothing is counting towards me. Can anyone help??

Hello @Kayjax, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. Your tracker registers a floor when it detects continuous motion combined with an elevation gain of about 10 feet. Because the tracker looks for continuous motion, pausing too long when going up a flight of stairs can cause the tracker to not count the floor, so it should be necessary to over exaggerate your motion patters with your arm.

Please take a look at this post for a similar scenario and different recommendations from my behalf.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be around.

My fitbit is incorrectly counting my stairs, not giving me enough.  I have not changed the way that I go up and down my stairs.  There is no app to fix this what do I do?  So frustrating
