I have both an Ionic and charge 2. I used to have these connected to an iPhone 7 and never had issues. I have now got a new Android phone and no longer get notifications.
i have read and followed all the threads I can find on this issue. The only way I can get notifications to my Ionic is if I go into the Fitbit app settings and erasing data and then logging into the app again. But it does not seem to hold the settings for more than a day or if I switch Fitbit. It reverts to the message ‘notification services not running'. This is clearly an issue with the Android app. Is there a fix?
I’ve reinstalled the app
restarted phone
reset fitbit
cleared data
the only thing that works is clearing data on a daily basis but this is clearly not a solution, it must be a bug with the app as it worked fine with Apple. Please, some help on this fitbit.

I have managed to resolve this issue. I’ve successfully been getting notifications for over a week now.
the solution for me and my particular mobile ( Mi 9T, Android 10 ) was as follows.
1. Settings -> Apps -> Permissions -> Autostart.
Set this on for the Fitbit application
2. Settings -> Apps -> Fitbit.
Clear data.
3. Reboot phone
4. Login to Fitbit app
5. test notifications, and you should be good to go

Hello @Phil1805, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the details that were shared with me, your effort and patience troubleshooting this situation before posting are appreciated. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which Android mobile device you're currently using? Are you not receiving text and phone call notifications? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Fitbit are correctly configured and to try some troubleshooting steps.

Hi, the phone is an Xiaomi Mi 9T, Android 10, miui 11.0.4.
it seems there are many many issues with notifications on Android devices. I am not experiencing issues with other applications or other fitbit features, just notifications. Clearing all data, rebooting the phone, re logging in to the Fitbit app and running a test call works for a period, I get notifications but they are late arriving to the Ionic and only work for a short period of time before having to go through the process of clearing data etc again.

Hi,
Please note that Android OS automatically stops app to reduce battery consumption.
In order to receive all notification live, you need to ensure that App is running at all the time in the background as it's imposible to keep mobile screen unlock and leave the Fitbit app open incase anyone call or text us.
Follow below steps to set Fitbit App runs at the background then Android won't stop it automatically anymore;
Settings > Apps > go again to Apps > find Fitbit > find Power usage details > App launch >
turn off "Manage automatically" and all other option, ONLY keep on "Run in Background"
Full details in in my post;

Hope that helps😀
