Not receiving text notifications

I am receiving call notifications on my galaxy s7 and not my tetxs. This is my second charge 2. I thought the first was faulty. I took all the steps to turn on notifications and even showed the sales rep. What is going on?

@Athensgreece When you say you have turned on notifications are you talking about notifications on your phone or just on the app or both? On my S8+ I went to notifications and made sure the Fitibt app has permission to receive notifications. You did not mention the type of Fitbit model you own. On the Fitbit Charge2 use the button on the side to scroll through to the notification page and once you get there hold the button in until it says ON. If you have the ChargeHR model to enable the notification on the Fitbit it’s different process so let me know and I can explain how to enable on the ChargeHR.

Next....

On the Fitibt app- select the box on upper right corner- Account page- click on the model of your Fitbit ( I have Charge2), Click on the model to get to notifications, when you click on notifcations on the next page you see calls, text messages (click on text messages to make sure the on button is selected and the messenger app you use is selected). Go back to notications page and on the upper right corner you will see three dots- click on that and select Send a Test Notification.

Best wishes.

@MzP thank you for reaching out. I have a charge2 and had taken all the steps you mentioned. This is why i find it weird that I am able to get my call notifications and not my texts. I have activated the notification for text and phone. When i send the test notification it sends a test phone call buy not text.

@Athensgreece have you checked your default messaging app on your phone to make sure that your messenger app shows that you have granted permission for notifications from the messanger app to Fitbit?

You probably have already done this but just checking- the gear symbol on your phone then on setting page go to notifications and look for Fitibit app to make sure permission is granted for the Fitibt app to receive notifications. After doing that make sure and restart your phone.

I am having the exact same issues except that I have an iPhone 6s.  My first Charge 2 was able to receive call and calendar but not text notifications, and after troubleshooting with Fitbit staff, was sent a replacement Charge 2.  I just set up the new Charge 2 that arrived today, did all the same troubleshooting, and I can receive call notifications but not text notifications.  I haven't had a calendar event yet to know whether those notifications work.  Notifications on the device and on the app are turned on, the device is recognized in my bluetooth, and I've tried rebooting/disconnecting/reconnecting, etc. (troubleshooting listed in other forums and that I tried before) with the same results as my original Charge 2 that couldn't receive texts.  Please advise.

@K.B. , you mentioned that the notifications for the phone is ON, so u r getting the phone calls Notifications on the Fitbit. Have you checked to see if your messaging/text message app on your phone is granting permission to connect to your Fitbit? Also, try checking out some YouTube videos so see if anyone has troubleshooting tip to get the texts to your Fitbit. You might also take your phone & Fitbit to the Apple Store to see if one of their Geniuses can help you with this issue (I’m sure there is someone there with an iPhone & Fitibt) Robot wink Good luck, let us know what the solution was in case anyone looks here for help with this issue.
