Just got a LG g8 with android 9.0. My zip won't sync with the phone. After reading some of the other post,this is an ongoing issues.

Thanks for sharing those details and reading about the situation with Android 9.
It is possible that this is happening because the LG G8 is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.
As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing.
If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Nothing new. LG G Series has a lot of problems with Bluetooth connectivity. Try to do the sync somewhere where there are no other devices around, including PC or laptop.
If it not works, you probably have to reinstall the tracker. Don't forget to uninstall it, before reinstallation.

I tried what you said . Uninstalling the zip and reinstalling it worked for about an hour.

I see in some sections of the website the LG G8 is a supported device - but is it compatible with the Fitbit Versa yet?

I just read on the list of compatible devices and LGG8 says it is compatible with fitbit....
