Every now and then my fitbit versa stops showing notifications from my android phone. See this error when i check in fitbit app: "Notification service not running......." This is happening atleast 4-5 times a day. So annoying. You guys cant be serious about a phone restart every time this happens and that too because of a problem on your part.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which Android mobile device are you using? When was the first time you received this error message?
If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Versa are correctly configured.
After verifying the above, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

My tracker is Versa which I bought just 3 days ago and cell phone is OnePlus 6 running android version 9 (oxygen os 9.0.9).
I have read all the help articles and tried everything. Even reinstalled the app multiple times. Everytime after reinstall the notifications work for a few hours and then i start seeing this error and no alerts on tracker.

I appreciate the details that were shared in your post. Let me share with you that here at Fitbit we are aware of this issue and working towards a resolution as soon as possible. That being said, my best advice for you at this moment will be to keep your Fitbit app and Android version up to date, we will release an update to completely resolve this inconvenience.

OMG that's 3 months ago. Have you not fixed it yet. I just switched to a ZTE phone and can't get notifications to last more than an hour or 2.

Thanks for your post and feedback. The reason why you're not receiving notifications on your Fitbit device can be because of the fact that you're using a non-compatible mobile device with our products and services. Please check our list of compatible devices here and try the steps that were shared on my previous post as well.

Facing the same problem on my versa 2. Phone is one plus 6 which is a compatible device. every time I have to uninstall fitbit app and reinstall for notification service to run. And then again within a few hours it stops on my phone. If I attempt to put my watch on sleep or dnd, and then attempt to turn off dnd or sleep mode, i don't get notifications anymore and requires app reinstall. It's extremely annoying

I am also having the same issue with my Versa and I have a Coolpad Android phone. I will get notifications for about 2 days then they stop and I have to uninstall the reinstall the Fit Bit app to get them to show up again. It is getting really old.

this was 3 years ago and this notification problem is still a common issue. it happened on my first charge 4 which i had from nov. 2020 to nov. 2021 and then again on my second charge 4 I had to replace it with last month. Why hasnt fitbit fixed this issue within 3 years?
charge 4, operated on android system.
