Thanks for sharing more details of the issue you're experiencing. I've noticed that the issue with the "notifications service not working" message was experienced by our users last year, however this was resolved with an update for the Fitbit app. Since you're having this issue, please attach a screenshot of that message in your reply so I can take a look into that.
In addition, please provide me with your phone's model and Android version. Also, verify if the Fitbit app is updated to the 3.2 version.

I installed the latest android version of the app.

I use the fitbit app on an Android Phone: Xiaomi mi mix 2
