Interesting that the Fitbit 3.0 version that came out on June 27th has a pretty serious bug in it that stops txt notifications to fitbits (Blaze) from numerous phones. I have tested with 3 different Blaze trackers and Samsung S8, S9 and S10 phones as well as LG G5s.
On 2.95 txt notifications work fine. Update the app to version 3.0 and notifications stop. Yet you can successfully test a phone call and receive incoming call alerts just fine. Rebooting phone and tracker, no effect. Turning notifications on and off, nothing. Clearing data and cache of app, nothing. All permissions are correct. Deleting bluetooth pairing, rebooting tracker and phone, nothing.
Uninstalling 3.0 and going back to 2.95, everything works just fine on all phones mentioned. Txt notifications included.
I am disappointed that Fitbit claims it is the device when it is clearly their poorly written software that caused the issue. Let me know if you want to know how to roll back to 2.95 to fix your notifications. ****This is at your own risk*****

Best AnswerI am also having this issue on Pixel 3 XL with a Blaze. Email notifications work and calls do too, but nothing else. I've unpaired and re-paired, deleted and reinstalled the app, and repeatedly tried rebooting. I almost bought an Ionic on Prime Day, but this issue stopped me.
Hi LizzyFitbit,
I setup my Blaze as a new device after reading my data is archived in my account and therefore retained.
Still no SMS notifications but phone call notifications continue to work. I restarted both my phone and Blaze (again) and re-tested. Same results.
I think we can say for sure there is a software bug resulting in a loss of functionality, even in "supported devices".

Hi @tocsik87. It's nice to see you around. @Jkaj3000 and @ScarWilde, welcome to the Forums! I'm sorry for my delayed response.
Thanks for letting me know about your Blaze devices, as well for the steps that you've tried. I understand how you're feeling about this, and I'm sorry that you had this experience. After checking your information I was informed by our team that they're aware of the notifications not working after updating to the Fitbit app 3.0 version. They're working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible, and be sure that your comments will no go unnoticed.
If you need anything else, let me know.
Best AnswerHello, is there an update on this issue? I'm still missing sms messages on my Blaze with version 3.7 of the fitbit app on the Pixel XL with Android 10. I've already tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Thank you!
I've discovered that I can get notifications if I change texting apps, but then I have issues getting some of my messages on those apps, so that does me no good.
Best AnswerMine started working again about 2 weeks ago. Don't know if it was a Google fix or a Fitbit fix. Of course, now Fitbit is Google, so. it'll be the death of Fitbit as we know it.

Best AnswerSorry to hear that! Have you tried the steps in the link at the top of the forum page?
Best Answer@tocsik87 ha ha! Love it. Wonder if the steps for iOS are as effective as the ones for Android. This new app version is fubar. No one seems to be able to make it work fully for everyone.
Fix one thing and something else quits.
Best AnswerYes. I tried them all many times.
