Notifications on my Android phone app are stuck in 2018

There MUST be some setting that I'm missing on the Phone or the app.  I get the "good job" notifications, e.g. 1,500 steps to your goal   or best day ever etc  on my phone's notification, i.e. icons on the upper left BUT I am not getting them in the app where messages and notifications used to be stored.    

I DO have a bunch of notifications dated 2018 from another Fitbit (Ionic I think).  It's just annoying.... not a showstopper.   

I have reset the unit; I have uncoupled the phone and unit a couple times.

Hi, @KappysFlex, welcome, try deleting the app & reinstalling it.

1. Sync the app.
2. Go into your phone settings>Fitbit app>clear cache & storrage.
3. Delete the Fitbit app.
4. Restart your phone & reload the app.
5. Log in to the app.
6. Check the notification settings - How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
