Pairing number? Charge 2

I  think I  finished setting up my charge 2 with my Samsung galaxy 3 two days ago.  charged my fitbit,  and used it.  it synced several times yesterday,  last zinc was @9:30  last night.  I  don't keep my Bluetooth on but have tried to sync probably close to 40  times today,  even left bt  on for hours.  tried Wi-Fi and data plan.  nothing.  then I  thought,  ok,  I'll just unpair it,  and re-pair it.  so I  forgot all of my paired things since none of them said fitbit or fb, thinking that was my problem -  that it wasn't paired.  now I  read that the number it had me type in a  couple days ago was what paired it.  so my question is,  where do I get the number?  if I  uninstall the app will it erase my data?  why wouldn't my fitbit sync today?  does weather play a  part?  it was rainy and drizzly all day.  if this is normal I'm staying to think I  wasted my money.  I  mean it worked for one day!  wish there was a  store I  could take it to that would just fix it.

I was told to not keep Bluetooth on because it drains the battery much
quicker. And yes, it was fruitless. So you understand why I was so
frustrated.

Late last night I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It did notice my
account, but still didn't sync or give me a new pairing code. So I
uninstalled again, and this time when I reinstalled I created a new account
with a new email and password. It gave me the code and I've left Bluetooth
on all day. It hasn't been a very noticeable drain on battery.

So things are good for me. I only lost a days worth of data, plus it erased
all the extra data it came with when shipped. It was nice to start the week
with a new device and fresh data.

I'll go in and mark this one solved.

Lots of differenent questions/issues there, @TonyainLubbock1.  I'm curious, if you "tried to sync probably close to 40  times today", why don't you just leave Bluetooth on?  Turning Bluetooth on & off 40 times a day seems like a lot of effort for no particular benefit.

That 4-digit number is displayed on the screen of the tracker the first time it is set up for you to enter into the Bluetooth authorization. It doesn't have any purpose after that.

No, the weather does not have any impact/effect on syncing with Bluetooth. Bluetooth is a short-range RF transmission, which is not affected by the weather.

If you re-installed the Fitbit app, and logged back into your account, does it see the tracker? If not, simply go into the app Account page and select "Set up a Device" to add your tracker. If one is there, tell the setup to replace it, and add your tracker back in. That will go through the setup again, and pair it with Bluetooth.

I'm glad it worked, @TonyainLubbock1!   No, contrary to many popular myths, neither Bluetooth nor Location Services have any noticeable effect on the battery life - when they are not in use, they go into standby mode and don't use any power at all.
