Persistent Fitbit Sync Service notification

I pulled out my Fitbit One so I could start doing challenges with my wife again.  There is a persistent notification that I can not get rid of.  This sync service continuously drains my battery.  Going to the device setting in the Fitbit app does not work as there is no option to turn off the keep alive widget.  The other suggestion of hiding the notification is unacceptable as the sync service will still be running and draining the phone battery.

Hi @yoda2nd. It's nice to have you on board.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as well for trying the steps to hide that notification. Let me share that beginning with Android 8.0, Google changed they way you're notified when an app is running in the background. If your phone is running that Android version, you’ll receive a Fitbit Sync Service notification regardless if the Fitbit app is running in the background, or if you close it. Currently there isn't an option to turn off that notification as it comes directly from Google, and my advise is to hide that notification. I'm sorry about this inconvenience, and our team will keep working based on your feedback.

Feel free to let me know if you need anything else.
