Phone won't pair with Alta

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just spend 45 minutes with live chat on the fitbit site to figure out why my phone won't pair with my fitbit alta.  The person I was talking to said it wasn't a compatible phone.  I have a samsung galaxy j3 mission which I've had for 2 years.  I used to receive my text messages and incoming phone calls on my fitbit alta with this same phone but all of a sudden it stopped working and they are saying it's not a compatible phone.  I find it very hard to believe it's my phone that's not compatible since I used to receive them.  This is very frustrating!!!!!

Welcome to the Forums @RNIDS.

Thanks for sharing your experience with our support team.

As you mentioned, the J3 Mission is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone. Since you mentioned that it used to work then it is possible that a recent update on the phone or the app led to further optimization issues that are causing the current syncing issues.

If possible,  you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello @RNIDS.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Thanks for the clarification and correction.

It is very possible that it is still related to the J3 Mission not being a supported device. Having said that, maybe you could try to follow the steps listed in this help article to help with the notifications. Other users with non-supported phones have found them to be very helpful.

Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
