Pixel Watch 3 gets inaccurate stride length

Hello. I have the pixel watch 3 45mm lte and when I run on the treadmill I get very inaccurate stride lengths. I usually run 10km, but the watch only shows 7-8km. I have calculated my stride length and put it in manually, but whatever I put, the distance shows 7-8km everytime. Feels like it's not using the manual length put in at all.

Today I tried using run instead of treadmill and turned off the gps, but still got the same result. When I use the run feature it actually shows the stride length I use and it's 94,5cm, but it should be 116cm.

I also tried setting stride length to 2 meters just to try to trigger it, but it does not change.

Is it something special I have to do too start using the manual stride length that I set?

(Also, I have tried this on different treadmills and I get similar results on all of them)

I used the pixel watch 1 for two years and had the same problem so it's not the device either.

Thanks

Did you notice in Stride Length setting, there are 2 stride lengths, walking stride length and running stride length.  To be sure, try setting both, but I think the "Treadmill" activity always uses the Walking Stride Length.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Hi. Yeah I put the same value in walking and running. Forgot to mention it😊

I walk on a treadmill.  (my 77 year old knees can't run)  I don't trust the Fitbit to calculate distance or calories.  It doesn't know what grade I  have the treadmill at.  (I use a fixed speed or 3.8 mph, I vary the grade in intervals and my average grade is 9.2%)  It's also just guessing about distance based on steps.  I use the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)  formula for treadmill walking to calculate Mets and Calories.  I trust the distance from the Treadmill Controller because it's based on the actual belt movement.  What Fitbit gives me is Heart Rate and Active Zone Minutes.

Treadmill distance can't be edited/calibrated after run. This definitely should be fixed.
