Fitbit App for Android no longer works

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My wife's Versa 2 has worked perfectly for several years.  A while back the App disappeared from her old S7 phone. When I went to the Play Store and searched for the App I got the message "This app no longer works for your device".  I understand the problem, her phone is too old and the updated app won't work.  Won't even install.

Question:  Do they expect us to purchase a new phone just to interact with the Fitbit when everything else works fine?  Or is there a way to use the watch without the phone? Such as a PC App?

Right now the watch says it's 09:11 on Tue 29. It's actually 14:02 on Sat 21. Kind of makes the watch useless.

Hi @deDutchman  your wife will need at least Android version 10 or higher to use the Android app - click to learn more. The PC app was removed quite some time ago and there are no plans to return to it. Seems most of the world uses their mobile devices and I have few younger relatives who even use a laptop!

Without syncing to the phone via the app, the date and time will be wrong.

Hi @deDutchman.  There is a different, more significant reason for your wife to upgrade her phone.  Google doesn't provide security patches for older Android versions.

As a long time user, I can say that Fitbit does this for both Android and Apple devices when a phone's operating system loses support.
