As new Fitbit Charge 5 user, I've been attempting for over a week to add my Amex card to Fitbit Pay, after successfully adding two other cards. Despite exhaustive proofreading of my Amex information, I always get the same error message immediately when I click "Next" after completing the Billing Address screen: "Error: Invalid entry. Please check your input and try again." Incidentally, based on advice from an old thread about similar problems with adding Amex cards, I've tried this with the phone's Wi-Fi turned off, to force the data to be sent via cellular - however, this also hasn't worked. The problem is not with my Amex account - for example, I just used it today to successfully purchase a Fitbit Premium subscription through by Google Pay account.

Hi, @Boricua369 , I am especially puzzled if this used to work on Versa 3 but doesn’t work on Charge 5. I’ll see if anyone else I know has any insight.

Hi, @RPhillips50 , only US Amex cards support Fitbit Pay, so if your card is not a US card, then that will be the reason that you are having this issue.
Also even for US cards not all are supported. If yours is from a third party financial institution then you will need to contact the issuing bank to find out if yours is supported.
Here’s some further info from the Amex faqs.
Eligible Cards that can be used with Fitbit Pay include U.S. Consumer or Small Business Credit or Charge Cards that are not cancelled and are issued by a U.S. banking subsidiary of American Express, as well as any of the following American Express Corporate Cards issued by American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc. to an employee of a commercial Card customer working in the United States:
- American Express® Corporate Green Card
- American Express® Corporate Gold Card
- American Express® Corporate Platinum Card
- American Express® Corporate Centurion Card
- American Express®/ Business Extra® Corporate Card
- American Express® Corporate Defined Expense Program Corporate Card
Prepaid Cards and other products are not eligible. If you have a valid Card issued by a licensed third-party financial institution, please check with your issuer if you are eligible to participate by calling the number on the back of your Card.

Julia: Thanks for your quick and thorough response! My card is a US standard consumer Gold Card, so it should be eligible. Time for me to call Amex, I guess! I will update the forum with whatever I learn from Amex, in case others have the same issue.

Hi, @Julia_G. I have exactly this same problem with my American Express card. It used to work with my Fitbit Versa 3, but know I just get the "Error: Invalid entry. Please check your input and try again." I verified twice with American Express support and my input information is OK. It's a regular, personal card issued directly by AmEx. I also tried deleting the app's cache/data, uninstalling and installing back. I even moved my Fitbit account to Google (something I resisted doing) to see if it helped, to no avail. The card works without problem with Gpay.
