Problems tracking run: map distance inaccurate & two times in timeline

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Whenever I track a run I somehow get two updates in my FitBit timeline for the same run...and the distance is very different. One with and one without a map.

Surprisingly, the one without the map is right. I know because I tracked the same run with another app and I know my pace more or less. Also, the map on the other app looked exactly the same, so it looks like FitBit doesn't calculate the distance right.

I tracked it using the Charge and waited for the gps connection. I get this both when auto-detect run is on and off. Sometimes the distance is way too long, other times it's way too short.

- How can I get the map with accurate distance?

- How can I get just 1 update on my timeline?

Hi @SunsetRunner, welcome to the Community Forums!

I appreciate the information and the screenshot that were shared in your post, I totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. Let me share with you that here at Fitbit we are aware of this specific situation and working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible to get you back on track with this resolved. We apologize for any trouble this can cause to you and appreciate your patience while we look forward to resolve this situation as prompt as we can.

In the meantime, please make sure that your Android mobile device is compatible with our products and services because a compatibility concern can cause connection difficulties. Even more because your Fitbit use the connected-GPS feature to route the map, therefore, the Fitbit needs to be in constant communication with your mobile device.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions,
