As this issue has been resolved, I am closing this thread. If you begin experiencing app crashes when attempting to log custom meals please create a new post and reference this thread.

If you're experiencing the issue where you're "missing calorie info when logging custom meals," I recommend checking out this thread for updates.

Fitbit Update 06/17/2016: Community members have reported that the Android app crashes when attempting to log custom meals via the app.

In the meantime, I recommend using our online Dashboard at Fitbit.com to log custom meals until further notice of a fix for this in the app.

I've made our Android team aware of this and they are currently working on getting this issue resolved. When I hear an update on the status of this issue, I will make sure to let everyone here know what I hear. Thanks for your reports and continued patience.

II did upgrade to 2.7 and it still failed so I  uninstalled, loaded 2.25 apk and it worked.  Forgot to uncheck auto updated and it updated to 2.7 and it is brok again.  I will turn off auto update and go back to 2.25 until you get a fix.  Custom meals is very useful.

Moderator, rather than just ask if we've all updated to 2.27, why don't you
obtain and post the change log of what was supposedly fixed?

@jacksondog @mnierman @bbumino Thanks for confirming that it is still occurring. I've let our product team know who has updated our engineers working on this issue. Thanks again.

@Morbius @bbumino Interesting about the "My Foods" tab. I've reached out to our product team to let them know about this and should have an update for this soon. Thanks for the reports.

@Morbius Here is the changelog that's viewable at your convenience.

Yeah, I just noticed that the "favorites" list of foods is gone, leaving
"custom", "recent" and "frequent" . "Custom" is currently completely
broken, and the other two are and have always been essentially useless.
For instance, under "frequent", it keeps an entry for a single item I ate
one time 3 months ago, but doesn't keep hardly anything that's actually
frequent. such as a couple of snacks that I eat nearly every day. And
under "recent", it pretty much does the same thing - has that same item I
ate once 3 months ago, and a few things that are also recent, but it
doesn't have what I had for dinner last night. And none of them have any
kind of sorting ability...not that I can find, anyway.

Can we please, please, please get this fixed????

I have the same issue.  Before the update to 2.27, custom foods logged correctly but custom meals showed zero calories and crashed the app.  Now, on Fitbit 2.27, custom foods still log correctly, custom meals still crash the app, and the favorite foods are gone.  I am using a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 running Android version 6.0.1.

And, by the way, the other problems that LosingItFast wrote about with the recent and frequent foods are also there.  Those groups don't appear to work at all and, as far as I can tell, never have worked...at least for the few months that I've been tracking food on my Fitbit app.

My apologies if this sounds rude, ErickFitbit but are you actually even reading this thread?  I already posted yesterday that I had upgraded to 2.27, and the issue persists.  And, that there are now new issues, with the "Favorites" list disappearing from the app.  Vixx24 also confirmed that the issue persists...both of us confirmed that the issue was still present in 2.27 well before your post.

they dont read the threads, its to cover thier butts. And dont even think about calling, i have never had to deal with "customer service" like this. they dont even use the app! they have no clue whats even ont he app! hello you are using the number one fitness product and you know nothing about it? the app is complety useless to me at this point and if someone asked me would you recommend fitbit? i would say no! dont bother.

Just go back to 2.25 until the programmers can get it fixed.  Works like a charm!

I followed the instructions posted by David88, and was able to get 2.25
installed on my phone with very little trouble. It's nice to have a
functional version of the app. And a bonus, the food lists get sorted,
because you uninstall the 2.27 version, and reinstall the 2.25, and it
forces a re-sync and download of the lists.

I have noticed that some items on the dashboard don't seem to be re-syncing
properly, though. There's no history under miles, and floors, and active
minutes is staying at 0, despite the exercise log showing a 26 minute walk
a little earlier in the day.

So, though the 2.25 version does work to get the food logging working
correctly, there may be some other issues that you may run across.
(Though, as I was typing this, it did start showing history under floors
and active minutes, though it still displays 0 on the dashboard)

Just relax and go back to 2.25 until they fix it. There are some very impatient people on this board. I'm happy to wait a month if that's what it takes for them to get it right!

not so much impaitent as, "programmers" should know what they are doing. And customer service should have answers. Its more annoying you can't get answer about something and they all seem surprised but this new update. So as of now its annoying to have to use a computer to log food,  yes, but i can wait it out if my stats are current. They are one of the biggest fitness apps out there and yet they cant get their sh!t together. They should be ahead of everyone else. And YOU shouldnt have to wait a month for them to fix it. You bought and paid for that fitbit to use with an app.

So how do I get v2.25??

Google and download fitbit 2.25 apk.  uninstall current app, turn off auto updates on phone then run the 2.25 apk file.

To fix what? What was wrong with 2.25? I paid for a working app and 2.25 works. 2.26 and 2.27 do not. So what? Just go back to 2.25. I'll bet you and @Morbius don't even know what's different in 2.27 since there is no change log.

If the app was forever broken then I would place as much urgency on this issue as you are but it's not. 2.25 is a fully functional working app.

I have no doubt Fitbit will fix the problem with 2.27 but in the meantime stop whining. Log your issue and go on with life. Yawn.

No one on here is rude.  Im not starting a fight with you. But truely. this a place for people to talk freely if you dont like it you dont need to comment back. Have a really great weekend and thanks for the tip about reverting back to old app.!

I've rolled back to 2.25 and all is good again.  Keep in mind that rolling back to previous build isn't second nature to all of us, I had to read about how to do it here.

For those that mentioned the Frequent and Recent foods not updating - you have to log out of the app then log back in.  It only syncs with the server when you log out.  Maybe FitBit can hire some high school interns to fix some of this stuff for them!

Thanks Erick.  I can't log custom meals on the app and I've also found that I can't log custom meals when I use the fitbit.com dashboard on my phone (Xperia Z3 running Android 6.0.1),  Looking forward to this being fixed really soon!  Sue

Exact same problem on my LG G4 (year old phone).  Except, customer service says that the app is NOT SUPPOSED to work on my phone. Huh? Been using it since November.

Also, my favorite food list has vanished.
