Hi, my Fitbit tells me when I reach my goal. So I know it's tracking during the day. But the last days it has very few steps, like 800. I have been adjusting my phone because it's been draining my battery. Does turning off my Bluetooth and location affect how it counts my steps?

@Ohjojo62 may iIask what tracker do you have?

You say your battery is draining. but we are not sure which battery is draining.

It's my phone battery that's draining when I have location and Bluetooth on. So I've been turning them off but the past few days the tracker I've isn't keeping up with the steps I've been taking.

Are you saying that the tracker is not ciuntingcyour steps, are that the steps on the tracker are not being transferred to your Fitbit account on the web?

The tracker does not need the phone or location services on to be able to track steps.

Hi Ohjojo62. Turning off your Bluetooth on your phone will not keep your Fitbit from counting steps. It will limit your Fitbit's ability to communicate with your Fitbit account. Your Fitbit and your phone communicate as long as both of them are on your person or near each other. Without Bluetooth, this won't happen. If you do not want to use your phone (...for many possible reasons...), then you can use the dongle that came with your Fitbit. Follow the directions in the "Getting Started" guide.  If you want a daily updates, then you will need to put your Fitbit near the dongle when it is connected to a Fitbit ready computer each day. I hope this helps. Like this message if it does. Keep walking...running...dancing....etc. Peace, CateMD
