I upgraded my fitbit. Do i have to do something with my old fitbit that still works. Before i pass it on to make it so they don't have access to my account or information? When i put the new one on i was able to change device in my account, but unsure what happened to previous device information/access?
Best AnswerHi @LynnHooper when you get a new device, set it up as a replacement on an existing account and your history is there to continue the journey. You should be able to see all your old stats up on your account - have you looked? As for the old device, if it's still good, it's up to you what to do with it. You can keep it as a back up, give it away, donate or recycle it. Best Buy has a bin to collect fitness devices for recycling. Depending on the device and that you've removed it from your account, there shouldn't be anything on there for anyone to see.
If you pass it on to another erson, they wont get access to your Fitbit account since you havedissconnected it from the app, andadded a new device. But, it is data on your device. You should perform a factory reset. You don't say which Fitbit, look it up / google "factory reset <your device>"

@LynnHooper- there is always a risk with factory reset that the watch will become unusable afterwards, so proceed with caution.
It is probably not absolutely necessary as it may only have a few bits of non personal information remaining.
