Run activities don't show heart rate

I track my runnings in the Fitbit app by bringing my phone with me. Since a little more than a week there is no heart rate logged when I go in under the exercise. Why?

Hi @eva1868. Welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for letting me know that you have the Charge 2, and I'm sorry about your heart rate details. I'm here to help you out with this situation. Just to confirm were you wearing your Charge 2 during your run? Also, did you use the Mobile Run feature from the Fitbit app? If so, please note that this feature will calculate your distance, elevation, and pace for your walk, run, or hike activities, and the best suggestion is to use the exercise app from the Charge 2 to track your heart rate during your activities.

Now, if the heart rate isn't being recorded at all, please give a try to the steps from this help article.

Hi again,

I was wearing my Charge 2 and used the Fitbit app for tracking my run. And this was done in the same way as I always have done it. The difference is that now the change in heart rate is not shown any more, which is ashame as the resolution was much better under the mobile run feature than under the heart  rate feature.

I see in the forum that more people seem to have similar problems even with other clock models. Have the app been changed for some reason? In that case I'm disappointed...

I've reported the same issue over a week ago in another thread and am yet to get any reply. I use the phone to track the route and my Charge 3 device to track heart rate. The two show up briefly under Exercise, one with the map and the other with the heart rate, however, when it reconciles the two, it loses the heart rate  this started on July 29th 2019

Looks like Fitbit knows about this issue.  Hopefully they fix it soon.

Hi, I have also had this same problem with my Versa since the beginning of August. Used to be able to see heart rate details on the app, after I tracked a run. Any resolution with this yet? Training for a race and sure would like to have this feature back before and for the race!

I've been having the problem since late July, and also training for a half marathon. I upload my runs from Fitbit to Strava, and the associated heart rate tells me how much relative effort in putting in which helps me train.

I've been so disappointed with Fitbit lately.

For a few weeks in august, I wasn’t getting my every 0.5 mile cues like I personally prefer. When I’d go to adjust the setting, the app would crash. However it seems they’ve fixed that issue at least. Interestingly, if I do a non-gps workout logged from my watch (weights, circuit training, etc) I still get the heart rate record. So it’s only when I log a gps based run from the phone app that I don’t get the recorded heart rate in the exercise details. Just hope it gets resolved soon.

Hi @Jamie423 this has been an ongoing issue since July 29th and sadly it still has yet to be resolved 😞

Fitbit, how is this still going on? I have a charge 3 and used to use the app to track GPS and after the run I synced my device and it then displayed the heart rate with that exercise.

This is still not working! I shouldn't have to pick between GPS and heart rate 😭

Hi thank you for posting.  If I am understanding you correctly.  In order to get my heart rate data while running I need to initiate the run exercise from my watch instead of the mobile app?

Thank you
