@DiahannS You didn't mention which model Fitbit you use, but honestly, it doesn't make a difference. Fitbit uses a piece of hardware called an altimeter to calculate floors. It is prone to undercounting floors, because you must walk up in a smooth movement. Holding on to the rail or pausing can interfere with the floor count.
Fitbit doesn't use floors in your calorie burn. It uses your heart rate for that. There is no way to add floors.
Your phone type (Android or iPhone) doesn't make a difference.

Hi @DiahannS - your watch seems to be working well, reports of over counting (100s) on some devices have been given.
Your watch has to count the equivalent steps for a floor change to be registered.
Stopping at the bottom, and immediately at the top, may not give it time to record the necessary steps. As well as holding the bannisters also.
It is more likely to be accurate if you take a run at it! Lol. Walk up to the stairs normally, walk up without holding the bannisters and continue walking, with no pauses, or checking of the watch during the process.
Strangely using the dominant wrist setting may in some fringe cases reduce the floor count ability.
