Just got my new Charge 3, only to find that it is not compatible with my Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), it worked with the Charge 2. Are there any plans for it to become compatible? Before I put a new phone on my Christmas list?

Hey @Clarefm49, a warm welcome to the Community.
I just wanted to let you know that I have moved your post from the Charge 3 board to the Android app board, since I think that here you will be able to see more related topics about the Fitbit app.
Now regarding your inquiry, Fitbit is compatible with more than 200 of the most popular Android, iOS and Windows mobile devices.
The full list of compatible devices with confirmed compatibility can be found here. If a device isn’t listed it doesn’t mean it won’t work with a Fitbit tracker or smartwatch. We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit App, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models.
A majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products, however we cannot guarantee optimal performance on devices for which we have not tested and confirmed compatibility.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks for your reply. My phone runs Android 8.0 so it seems odd that it doesn't work. Can you tell me if there are plans to test my phone please its a samsung galaxy a5 (2017).

I am also wanting to know when it will be compatible. I have had my charge 3 for a month and it was syncing but would take a long time.
Now trying to sync for two days and not working and I am stuck on the wrong time zone. I have tried all the troubleshooting
If it doesn't work in another day will be returning
It is a newer phone than my old one and thats on the compatibility list
