Scanning barcodes

Is there a way I can scan barcodes without adding it to a daily meal? I want to be able to come home from the grocery store and scan all the barcodes as I put new food away so it will already be saved when I go to use the items.

Welcome to the Forums @Wessside! 

 

Currently it is not possible to preemptively scan food in order to log it later on. 

 

I did locate a Feature Suggestion about it, talking about scanning food directly to frequently used so that you can then add it from there. Perhaps you could comment on it or vote on it to show your support.
