Seems like every upgrade rejects my login credentials

I have a Charge 2. But that's not really relevant since the issues seems to be totally in the app.

It may not quite be every upgrade because I haven't kept track. But it seems like it. It not only forgets my credentials, but also rejects them. Like the ones I used to log in here, so yes, they work.

The only consistent "solution" I've found is to

  1. Force stop
  2. Clear data
  3. Uninstall
  4. Delete the app
  5. Reboot the phone
  6. Reinstall
  7. Log in from scratch

This seems rather drastic, but it does work consistently. Has anyone else had problems with the app rejecting their login?

Thanks for sharing those steps to get your app to take your credentials to let you sync again.

When it doesn't let you log in, do you get some sort of error message? If so, what does it say? Also, when exactly did this start happening?

Look forward to your reply.

It claims my login in invalid. No details beyond that. Sorry I don't recall the exact message.

It's happened multiple times in the past couple of years, always shortly after an upgrade. I usually only notice because I realize my fitbit isn't syncing.

Hello @rbroberts.

Thanks for reaching back with those details.

In this case I'd like to ask if the situation has continued or not? If not, please try to take a screenshot whenever you get the message and then post it in here so that we can get a better understanding of the situation.

Let me know if there are any further questions.

Well, it seems to only happen after an upgrade, so I'd have to say "yes" as of a few days ago but, naturally, I won't know if it's still continuing until the next upgrade.

Hello @rbroberts.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Thanks for letting me know.

Let's keep an eye on it and see if it happens again after an update. Hopefully it will not happen again in the future.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
