Currently I use both Fitbit and MyFitnessPal to accomplish my diet goals to support my fitness journey where one of them should really do everything in one spot. In need my daily calorie burn from Fitbit, but at the same time MyFitnessPal has diet features currently unavailable to me in the Fitbit app so I'm stuck with using both and syncing between the two.
As an example, I have specific macros that I set in the MyFitnessPal app. I lock two of them as specific targets, like Protein and Fat but allow 100% of my extra calories to apply to my remaining Carbs so that I can achieve a specific calorie deficit daily. The same thing goes for when I want to be in a surplus. Once can evenly distribute remaining calories into any of the three macro groups at whatever percentage they set. This allows users to set custom macro percentages or custom macro gram targets while others fluctuate and have their diet match that and account for actual calorie burn.
Fitbit should add the ability to do the following:
1. Set custom macro targets and track against them so that a user might see what remaining macros they might have.
2. Allow the set macros to adjust based on calorie burn so that they might go up or down depending on that day's calorie burn.
3. Allow the user to lock specific macro targets and specify what percentage of their calories would go to each macro based off of calorie burn.
If Fitbit is able to incorporate the above changes, it eliminates the need to use MyFitnessPal entirely, and probably does the same for many others who sync between both apps.

Having the exact same issue and would love to be able to set my own macro targets in FitBit as I find myself using it less without this feature!

There was a thread back from 2018 on the same topic and four years later you’re still hearing the comments. For your marketing and sales departments, they shouldn’t be surprised when people cancel Fitbit premium subscriptions in favor of my fitness pal.
