Setup difficulties with Versa 2 and Samsung Galaxy J3

I am not able to setup my Versa 2 on my Samsung J3 phone. I do have a charge 2 which I removed from the account. This phone is shown in the compatibility list and is running os 7.1. When I go to set up device, choose Versa 2, set up Fitbit Versa 2, I very briefly get a white screen, then goes back to my Fitbit account page. Device does not show. Please help. Received as a gift and very excited to get started using it.

First, I'd like to appreciate your effort and patience troubleshooting this situation prior to posting  If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? to check if all the requirements are correctly configured to setup your device. Then, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.
