Setup with Samsung Galaxy Note 5

Hi,
I just recently bought the new fitbit alta only to be sadly disappointed that it will not connect to my phone? Am I doing something wrong? It says it isn't compatible, so does that mean it will never sync? It is still not setup and I don't have a computer or laptop.. trying to find answers before I will have to return it...

I appreciate that Fitbit has added the Note 5 to their list of "supported devices", however mine still won't sync with my Flex.  Locations setting is ON, Bluetooth is functioning fine, the app and the Flex just aren't talking to each other.  It's making my Flex an absolute waste, which is disappointing and frustrating, to say the least.  If it cannot be corrected soon I will be forced to buy a different tracker altogether and it likely won't be another Fitbit.

I finally gave up on Fitbit and got another Jawbone UP.  Much better device and the feedback coaching software is far superior to Fitbit's. Mike

Not to be nasty, but if that is the case why are you still on the fitbit site and community?

I've only encountered this problem in the last few weeks (presumably due to an Android update) and have only recently come to the conclusion that the "fixes" I've been able to find simply do not actually fix the problem my phone and Flex are having with each other.  I can either walk away and not post my grievance at all (which serves no one) or I can post my issues with Fitbit on their community board in hopes that it may incentivize them to try to correct the situation (which, ultimately, likely won't serve me since I am more likely to just buy elsewhere now, but may help those of you who want to continue your patronage of this company)  I've had 3 Fitbit devices, so far, so I am not happy about the situation, but I also will not buy a new phone just to solve this problem, which seems to be the only concrete solution I've found.

amckcurtis- Sorry, I agree you should post with your issues.  My comment was directed at Tao-Rider who has moved on to another tracker so why continue to be on fitbit!

Hey guys! It is great to see you around the Community! Smiley Very Happy

@Im2saloojee, It is great to hear that your Fitbit Alta is working great with your Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

@amckcurtis Oh! sounds kinda weird that your Flex is not syncing with your Samsung. Let me ask you something, have you tried to restart your Flex? If not please try the following:

  1. Plug your charging cable into the USB port and insert your tracker into the charging cable.
  2. Insert a paperclip into the small pinhole on the back of the charger.
  3. Press on the pinhole for 3-4 seconds. Lights on your tracker should dim.
  4. Take your tracker out of the charger and insert it back into the wristband.

If after that, your tracker still not syncing, you can try the instructions on @AlejandraFitbit post to fix syncing issues with Android phones or let me know if yo already tried them.

@Tao_Rider I'm sorry to hear that your tracker is not working. Could you please tell me the inconvenience you are having? maybe I can help you out!

@TerriST, thanks for your participation in the Community!

I'll be around guys!

Let me know the outcome!
