Sleep Doubled on Fitbit App

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello,

Recently anytime I touch something in the fitbit app to view it, it records it again and doubles it. If I exit the app and start it again everything is normally fine except it permanently alters my "goals". So if I slept for 8hrs and viewed the sleep, it would log another 8hr sleep. When I exit and restart the app it'll only have one 8hr sleep logged but the chart remains set above measuring your weekly sleep remains at 16hrs. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I even disconnected my fitbit and tried a different one to see if that was the issue. I don't have this problem on the windows 10 app so I'm not sure if its exclusive to android.

Thank you,

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'd like to take a closer look at this situation. Could you take a screen shot of it and then post it here as a reply? That way I can see exactly what you mean. Additionally, please answer these questions:

  • What phone are you using?
  • When did this start happening?

Finally, thanks for letting us know that you have already tried closing the app as a temporary work around.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hello,

I've also tested this on my husband's phone with another fitbit and the issue persisted there. I've taken a screenshot after I've opened the detailed view of a sleep after a sleep a couple times causing the doubling issue.Screenshot_20180807-121416_Fitbit.jpg

Both my husband and I are using the galaxy s8. The android on our phones is up to date as is the fitbit app. This has been happening since the 5th but I wasn't using a Fitbit before then so I'm not sure if this was happening before the 5th.

Thank you for your help!

Update: I'm not having this issue in any other menus at this time. If seems to just happen on the sleep menu.

Hello @SturgA

Thanks for those pictures and checking on your husband's account.

My question would be if you are both using the same device or different S8's?

In the meantime I'd like to recommend that you log out of the app, force close it and then open it again and log back in and check if the sleep details are still doubling up like that.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

We use separate devices for our Fitbit accounts and my versa hasn't been synced to his phone or account before.I tried to force close the app and it resets everything but if I open any of the sleep logs it still doubles everything.

This happens on my Pixel 2 (Android 9) as well. If you are looking at the Sleep page and swipe up to look at recent apps, and then touch the Fitbit app again, it doubles everything that is under "This Week".

Hello @BleeeK and @SturgA.

Since your posts, back on 8/10, a new version of the app has been released (2.76.1). You can read more about it by clicking here. Could you confirm if you have installed this version and if so, if the issue has persisted since then?

Look forward to your replies.

I use an lg g5, same issue.  Every time I view sleep it adds it in.  I have tried everything listed below to date and no change either.
