Sleep Tracking is no longer accurate on the Pixel Watch 3

For the past few weeks my sleep tracking, particularly when it comes to sleep stages, is no longer accurate on my Pixel Watch 3. In particular, I'm encountering issues where tracking is showing that I'm awake when I'm not. This problem only comes up when showing sleep stages (Awake, REM, Deep), and this problem doesn't come up if it's not showing sleep stages (i.e. dividing sleep into asleep or restless).

And I know I'm not sleepwalking because I use a CPAP, and the data from that doesn't reflect that the CPAP has come off for an extended period (nor has the unit been drug onto the floor)

This is a very new development, which leads me to suspect it's caused by a software update. Who should I get in touch with about this?

Hello @CountZeroOr

By any chance, have you tried to edit your sleep log in the Fitbit app when it doesn't have the correct sleep start/wake times? If you haven't done this before, this help page (<-- click) has the instructions.

You can submit your issue using the Feedback option in the Fitbit and Pixel Watch apps.

Fitbit app:

  • Tap on your picture/avatar in the upper right of the Today page.
  • Tap on Feedback in the menu that opens
  • Complete the prompts and submit

Pixel Watch app:

  • Scroll to Tips & support
  • Tap on Send feedback
  • Complete the prompts and submit

The teams receive the feedback reports for review.

I have tried editing my sleep log - sometimes doing that - or deleting and manually re-adding the sleep log will have my sleep show without sleep stages (and consequently show more accurate data), before the app will reprocess the data and return to showing (inaccurate) sleep stages.

I have submitted feedback through the Fitbit app, though I'm not expecting any response there, because that is not visible to members of the community, whereas posting a response in public could at least get me some information on whether other people are encountering this issue.

Hello @CountZeroOr

Thanks for submitting the feedback.

You're right about posting in the public forum versus submitting the feedback report. When I see other users reporting the same issue, I try to start the escalation process from my end.

By any chance, did you also post about this issue in the Pixel Watch forum? A Pixel Watch user recently posted about sleep tracking issues.

Not yet - I'll take a look there.

EDIT: Looks like a lot of the threads are getting locked and bouncing the discussion back here.

Seemingly I am seeing the exact same problem, which I think started occurring after the Pixel Watch June 15 update.
