My Alta counts each step accurately, but every little movement I make gets counted as steps...a lot of steps. Some examples: washing my hands = 23 steps, opening cat food and putting on a plate = around 80 steps, movements while sleeping = several hundred steps. I've tried switching wrists, changing my dominant hand in the app, saying I was wearing it in my left while actually wearing on my right, etc. I played around with stride length too. No matter what, I'm getting hundreds of steps everyday that I'm not really taking which is throwing off my calorie count and I'm so frustrated I could cry. What else can I do before taking it back and getting a cheap pedometer to wear on my waistband? This was a gift and I want to love it, but I just can't make it work.
