SpO2 and ECG: Why is Fitbit ignoring my data from Health Connect?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice because I am struggling with my current setup. I am fully integrated into the Google ecosystem, but Fitbit's data consolidation is making life unnecessarily difficult.

For more precise measurements, I use an iHealth Air (SpO2) and a 6-lead ECG device from a well-known brand that I am apparently not allowed to name here because the forum filter blocks it. Let's just call it the competitors device - it is quite ironic that in a help forum, we are being censored for naming the hardware we need help with.

The issue:
Fitbit imports heart rate data from various sources. But when it comes to SpO2 or ECG, it seems to block everything else.

SpO2: Fitbit only shows the Pixel Watch 2 as a source. Withings imports the iHealth data, and Fitbit reads from Withings - so the data path exists, but Fitbit won't let me take the direct route.

ECG: The data is available in Health Connect, but Fitbit offers zero options to see external sources in the ECG section.

Is this a deliberate restriction due to medical certifications? Or is Google just playing gatekeeper to force us into their own hardware silo? It feels incredibly inconsistent, especially since Health Connect was marketed as the central hub for all our data.

I have been considering the Withings BeamO, but I am worried it will just be another expensive paperweight if Fitbit continues to keep the gates closed.

Has anyone found a way to bypass this gatekeeping, or are we just stuck in Fitbits walled garden?

P.S. To the moderators: Blocking brand names in a support forum does not really scream helpful.
