Step count is wrong

My step count continues to be about 10k to 12k less than it should.  I have already tried installing the app and reinstalling it. I have turned the watch off and on.  I have turned the phone off and on an is still wrong. I'm not sure what else to do to fix the problem.  Please help.

Are you doing a lot of treadmill walking, holding hand rail?  Steps are often not counted if fitbit wrist is held steady, rather than swinging as usual in walking.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
