Hey @Thelastpotter welcome to the Community, is nice to see you here! Sometimes the main reason of this issue is because the tracker is not paired. So, open your Fitbit app and you need to see the name and picture of your Fitbit tracker, if you are not able to see it, you just need to tap on Dashboard (upper left corner) and go to devices, tap on the plus sing (upper right corner) and follow the instructions there.

Tried that already, but will attempt again. I got a new phone and it just doesn't seem to work well with it. I think I am going to have to give up on Fitbit.

No @Thelastpotter don't do it! I have a question, you mention that you are not able to see your steps on your dashboard, right?. By any chance is the actual step tile the one you are not be able to see? or you have the tile but your tracker is not syncing your steps?. Because if you are not able to see the tile, try to open your Fitbit app and scroll all the way down and you'll find a grey button "Show Hidden", tap it and you'll see the step tile there.
