Steps still not counting during workout

Anyone else still having this issue? I have the Pixel 2 watch and my steps still do not count during any type of workout. I have updated, factory reset, Uninstalled and reset everything and STILL no fix.

Hello @Mel1253

I've seen Pixel Watch users report this issue after installing the March 2026 watch update. As far as I know, the team is aware of the issue and is working to fix the problem. However, we don't know the timeline for the fix.

For now, please submit this issue using the Feedback option in the Fitbit app:

  • Tap your avatar in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap Feedback in the menu that opens
  • Complete the prompts and submit

Although it's likely that you won't receive a response, we've gotten confirmation that the team reviews every submitted feedback report and uses the information for issue investigation.

Yes I also have a pixel and previously they did, about two weeks ago it stopped. Do you know if this is a known issue?

I am having the same issue.  I called support yesterday and did a factory reset.  The issue is not resolved.

Experiencing the same issue and the only thing they were able to tell me is do a factory reset... It needs an update! I guess we're just going to be waiting until they get around and fixing it.

Same here - I spent an hour playing Padel yesterday and my workouts all week to not have any steps counted. I also cleared the Fitbit Cache on my phone and restarted both Watch and phone with no luck. I added feedback too. I only just upgraded to a Pixel 4. Wishing I had gone with a Samsung upgrade right now

Hello @kush-codes , @SuperNova1808

The lack of step tracking during tracked workouts happened after installing the March Pixel Watch update. Like you, I have the same issue with my Pixel Watch 4 and doing a tracked workout - no steps are tracked. I'm also waiting for the problem to get fixed.

Hi @RiekoC @kush-codes

I played badminton today and it recorded my steps!! Potentially fixed?

Hope so considering this has been an issue for over two months now. Will give it a try with the elliptical today and hope for the best.

Just tried it out this morning with a short elliptical session - ZERO steps recorded. Reverting to using the treadmill setting. Sigh.
