I have an Inspire HR that I dug out of a drawer after about a year of not using it (purchased May 2019). I reinstalled the app on my phone and installed the firmware update.
However the app wouldn't load details of the apps nor let me change the clock face.
After trawling the boards and help topics...
So my phone won't support an OS beyond Android 6.0.1 (the manufacturer decided it wouldn't roll out the update to 7.0 and beyond to this model) which is why the latest Android App won't work fully.
I run Windows 7 on my laptop so Fitbit Connect is totally out of the question (if it even was available anymore, which it isn't).
I have no access to another device with a higher OS system to synch it with, so don't bother suggesting that option.
I've deleted the latest version of the Fitbit App and installed version 2.88 (which should work with Android 6.0)
I've factory reset the Inspire HR to roll back the firmware update
The app still will not load details of the apps on the fitbit, or change the clockface. What else can I possibly try?
All I have now is a fancy pedometer that's going to get more and more outdated and less functional as time goes on. I'm this close to chucking this product in the bin tbh.

Normally the Play Store will only install the most recent version of the Fitbit App for that model phone and OS, which is fine. And it works
However the case is not the same if you factory reset the watch as it will load the latest firmware which may not be compatible with the Fitbit App as you are experiencing.
You might be able to get around it if you can succeed in NOT installing the firmware update and get the watch started with the factory reset version.
Even so you may end up with two incompatible versions but its worth a try.

So what can I do now the latest firmware has been installed on the fitbit itself?
Had I known it wasn't going to be compatible I wouldn't have downloaded it onto the hardware - but it flagged up at the top of the Fitbit App when I initially re-installed it off the Play Store that a firmware update was available so stupidly I did...
I've only tried to factory reset the fitbit since installing the firmware update in the hope it might roll it back, but as I understand it now that doesn't happen.
it currently has installed: FIT OS 34.20001.63.5
