Still unable to edit workout

Hi community,

This came up before (for example, here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Edits-to-Exercise-Activity-is-Not-Saving/td-p/5649778/) but apparently they never solved the issue where you can't edit the start time or duration of a workout after it's been recorded. In my case, when I go to the edit screen, I press the Save button and nothing happens, even if a wait or press it multiple times. The only thing I can do is exit the screen without saving.

Has anyone found a solution to this?

Thanks!

Hello @high-fitdelity

There has been an on-going issue on the Fitbit side that affected our ability to edit completed workouts. It was partially fixed for Android users, but then got broken again.

I'm not sure what's the current status for this issue. I've seen users report that they are able to edit some workouts, but not all. And, I've seen users report that they can edit some information, but not all.

Out of curiosity, what workout were you trying to edit?

For now, please submit this using the Feedback feature in the Fitbit app

  • Tap your picture in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap on Feedback in the menu that opens
  • Complete the prompts and submit

The feedback reports are received by the team for review.

In the meantime, I'll keep monitoring the forums for any updates on the issue affecting editing completed workouts. If I learn of anything, I'll report back.

I am also unable to change the activity name which is frustrating. I'd like to record badminton and gym classes. I understand they can't have every activity listed as a shortcut, but I should be able to rename "Tennis" or "Workout" to badminton after it's logged. I can edit the name but when I save it tells me its not a "valid activity name". Does anyone know how to do this / a workaround for this?

I still love the design of Pixel Watch so was debating getting the 4... But then I saw that this is still an issue a year later... so ya... think I'll pass this year.

Thanks for following up! To your question: I went on a walk and manually started it, but forgot to stop it so it kept going for a few hours. I was just trying to remove the extra time.

I'll go ahead and reported it as you suggested.

Thanks for your help!

Hello @EnzoDragon

Just an FYI. At the Made by Google event (20 Aug 2025), they announced a new completely overhauled Fitbit app. The updated Fitbit app will have a Health Coach using AI integration. This article from the Verge (<-- click) has a nice summary of the new app.

As stated in the article, there will be an opt-in preview for all Fitbit users with Premium subscriptions. If you're interesting signing up for the preview, watch the Fitbit blog posts section (<-- click) for the announcement.

Keep in mind that the app in preview will be a work in progress. So, I expect there will be somethings that aren't quite fully built out or don't completely work the way they're supposed to.

It's pretty shocking that still after all this time, this bug isn't fixed.

Inexcusable and shoddy.

I honestly don't know why you @ me with this nonsense. Is a pig with lipstick on not still a pig 🤔. Unless this "overhaul" includes things like bug fix for basic functionality and basic features like satellite view for gps related activities, then who the heck cares about new PAID features that the majority of people will only use during the initial trail period that comes with the watch?
