Surge Wont Sync - Step by Step What I See

My Surge has stopped communicating with my Samsung Galaxy S6 (which has the latest software update since Aug 8, 2017).  The Surge stopped notifying me of texts and phone calls a few weeks ago.  It then become more and more difficult to have it change Time Zones (and had to sync it to change).

Now, it has stopped communicating altogether.  I've restarted it several times, I've also tried removing the Fitbit App and reinstalling.  I've even tried installing the App to my MacBook Air.  Nothing.

Here's what I see when I try and pair it...

I tap "+ Set Up a Device" on the App

I select Surge as the tracker I'm setting up

I press and hold the Power On button, I see the Fitbit logo, then it goes to "Run", then the time shows up.

The App says "We found your Surge!" and it shows "connecting" at the bottom

The App then says "Not Working?" and asks me if there are other Trackers nearby (there aren't) and if my Tracker is close by (it is), and if it is charged (it is)

I've also seen the pop-up "Bluetooth Issues" and of course I've tried resetting Bluetooth.

I also went and purchased a used Surge today to try and get it going, and see the same messages.  I'm about at the end of my patience with this thing.  Thank you.

Update:  I was able to set it up just fine on my wife's iPhone.  I think my phone is defective.  Nevermind!
