Hello @Coling, welcome to the Fitbit Community. The update was with your app or the Fitbit tracker? In any case the update should be the reason of short battery life. So I recommend to give it a try to the following suggestions. It might help to resolved the issue with the battery.
Keep me posted how it goes. I'll be around!

Same here; after the latest update I'm having to charge my Surge at least twice per day; three times if I go for a run. 😞
