Switching Between Fitbit Inspire 2 and Pixel Watch 3 for Seamless Tracking

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice regarding using multiple Fitbit/Google tracking devices under one account. I currently own a Fitbit Inspire 2 and a Pixel Watch 3, and I'd like to use them interchangeably.

My Pixel Watch 3 serves most of my daily needs well, but I find its 45mm size to be quite cumbersome and uncomfortable for sleep tracking. Previously, I used my Fitbit Inspire 2 exclusively for sleep, and its compact size was perfect. Additionally, the Pixel Watch 3 requires charging, which can sometimes interfere with continuous tracking.

I'm wondering if there's a way to have both devices active on the same account simultaneously? If anyone has managed this or knows why it's not possible, please share your insights.

If simultaneous use isn't an option, I'm seriously considering giving up the Pixel Watch 3. While there are many smartwatch alternatives, I'm very invested in my Fitbit sleep data, having used Fitbit for many years, and I'm not willing to abandon that historical data.

It's a bit puzzling to me that Google seems to discourage owning and using multiple devices for different purposes. I often hear that battery life is a common issue with smartwatches, and a popular workaround is to own two devices. It seems this solution isn't feasible within the Google/Fitbit ecosystem. Does Apple Watch offer this kind of flexibility?

I hope the Fitbit/Google team is considering solutions for users who wish to utilize different devices for specific tracking needs, especially for something as crucial as sleep.

Thanks in advance for any help or information!

Having multiple devices that use the app gallery connected at the same time is not possible.

You can vote for that feature here.

Hi @elicheung.  You mentioned Apple Watch, but didn't explain how you might use it.  For many users, the Apple Watch battery life is similar to a PW battery life. meaning you might or might not get 24 hours from a single charge.  If you are thinking about using the AW in the daytime and Fitbit for sleep, that won't work either.  There is no free third party app that can combine data from the Fitbit app to Apple or vice versa.  Please share more details if I misunderstood what you wrote.

Yes, we need a way to have two current models on our account at the same time.  But don't blame this on Google.  This is all on Fitbit.  Fitbit created this limitation long before the Google purchase.

Thank you for your reply and help!

I've been thinking about this more, and I'm now considering purchasing a 41mm Wi-Fi version of the Pixel Watch 3 specifically for use during sleep. My hope is that using a smaller Pixel Watch for sleep will resolve the comfort issue, and then I won't have the same problem with two Pixel devices as I did trying to use a Pixel Watch and a Fitbit tracker together.

You'll still be limited to having only 1 device connected to the Fitbit app at one time.
