Sync not working with Charge 3 and Mate 20 Pro

Android 9

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

App, phone and Charge 3 have worked flawlessly until last night  Now app can't find the device.  Have reset Charge 3, have let app turn phone Bluetooth on and off several times.  Don't want to remove device as I lose the unsynced data (a day).  Keep alive, all day sync are on and worked . Settings on phone allow all permissions to app. Battery.optimisation not permitted to stop app.  Phone manager not permitted to prevent or turn off any Fitbit activities.   nothing has changed except the app can't find the device to sync. I can connect to other Bluetooth devices so it's not the phone's Bluetooth. What to do?

Hello @edgewalker66.

Thanks for trying all of those steps to get your Fitbit to sync to your phone.

This could be happening because the Mate 20 Pro is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone. This means that some update on the phone or the app could've caused further issues that led to this happening.

As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing. While some of the steps that you have tried are there, please try to give them all a try in order.

If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I got it working again, thanks.  It was working absolutely perfectly even if Fitbit lags behind in keeping their 'device list' up to date with the latest flagship smartphones.  There had been no updates for phone-specific features and, I would think, Android behind-the-scenes updates have the same effect on all Android phones.  It is only the FITBIT Android app updates that are potential problems so I never install the updates until I wait and see if anyone has problems in this forum.  This past time I forgot that rule and updated as soon as it appeared in the Play Store; as a result, I spent several frustrating hours getting things back to where they were. In future I will exercise caution.
