Sync problem resolved !

I have an Samsung S7 and was having issues syncing my Charge HR after an update on my phone.  I have been back/forth with customer service with no help.  Here's what I did to correct it.

Turn OFF your phone (do not use the restart option) and leave off for about 30 seconds then turn it back on. Go to your fitbit app and REMOVE YOUR DEVICE.  Shut your phone off again for about 30 seconds. Turn it back on and then UNINSTALL the fitbit app.  Shut the phone off again.  (Since your phone is a mini computer, this allows the phone brain to understand that you've removed the device and the app completely, if this makes any sense).

Take your fitbit device and plug it in as though you are going to charge it.  Hold down the button (on the Charge HR it is on the left) until the device starts to boot back up and you will see the fitbit icon and the version number.  Let go of the button and unplug your device from the charger.  Turn your phone on and re-install the fitbit app.  Once it is installed, add your device.  You may need to run the sync, but mine synced automatically.  Mine took several long minutes but, so far (fingers crossed), no problems.

Let me know if this works for you ... what type of phone, operating system and fitbit product.  I'm curious if this will work for all of them.  THANKS !!!

Some good tips there. I would add a note of caution though. If you remove the tracker from your app then you may lose any unsynced data so I would suggest trying the restart you mention first as this will not lose anything. It's also worth noting that the restart doesn't always work so it's worth trying it at least 3 times. Of course, if that doesn't work then removing the device as you suggest is worth trying.

Finally, for those with other fitbit models the restart instructions can be found here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186/

Steve I tried this and some other suggestions but I'm still having problems. It's driving me nuts! I'm going to look for another type of tracker that doesn't have so many technical difficulties.

Hey Sunshineray ... I understand your frustration.  Both my husband and I had more issues just in the past week.  He refuses to keep playing with the app and trying to "sync" .. feels it has been a waste of money.  I stopped using the Charge HR and went to the FitBit 2 .. same issues so it is the their app or program.  Can't be "all" the devices are acting up at one time.  LOL
